THE BEGINNING

We met 16 yrs ago, on boxing day, through friends. It was love at first sight! I had, had a few mind you!

Then we met up again a few weeks later, on a trip to Ireland and moved in together a few weeks later. I had my 1st dog a bearded collie cross called Rudi, he was my baby. Kim had 3 lurchers, and thought my boy was ruined! When he took his out working I pursued him to take Rudi, who managed to pull Kim over a cliff in pursuit of his 1st rabbit! Rudi was an intelligent dog and would escape at every opportunity; he would turn up at my work place. or we would get a call from our local pub to say Rudi was in the bar again! He was very sociable. Kim had helped train his uncles Greyhounds, for many years and always dreamt of owning a Deerhound. We eventually got our first Deerhound in 1993, Hyndsight Lana. She taught us so much about the breed and we started showing.

I had been involved in local rescue for the cat protection league. So we have always loved and had animals, as years have gone by we have had all sorts from fancy poultry, parakeets, an a rescued parrot, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, and now 3 Jacob sheep. Our oldest resident is our old moggie Ziggy, 17yrs old. She keeps all the dogs under control and gets the best spot by the Aga.
